Montessori on Pinterest....

I know, it has been a while! I just don't have the time to keep the goldmine going but I have become addicted to pinterest. I have set up several Montessori themed boards and also one to share with different pinners adding to it. If you are on pinterest you can follow me and my boards HERE. If you would like me to add you to the shared board, drop me a line with your pinterest name.

If you haven't been on pinterest yet, I highly recommend it and wrote a post on how I use it for educational reasons HERE.

Japan Quake Auction Appeal

First, let me thank everyone who has been in touch, we are all OK and I am updating the other blog if you want to know what is going on. Well, I can't just sit here and do nothing, there is so much devastation, the death toll is continuing to get higher and just looking at the images it is obvious that there will be a lot of clean up ahead.
So, I have decided to run an auction and would be honoured if you could get involved.
I am planning to run it in the same way as the QLD flood appeal auction with each blogger holding an auction or raffle on their own blog. You can donate or give whatever you like, Montessori files or something you make or something you have bought but please choose something that you are willing to post worldwide.
The money will be donated to Global Giving once you have donated you will be sent a receipt number this will act as your raffle number, for those who win an auction you will need to send proof of donation to the person whom win from.

On Friday 18th March, I will have a master list of bloggers who will be running auctions/raffles from their blogs. You will have one week to bid on these auctions, and hopefully be the lucky winner of these great products. Auctions will be open for 1 week, and will close at midnight on Saturday 26th March. Now due to time zones, I suggest you post on your blog the time your auction will close AND the time zone you are in.

What can you do?

If you have a blog you can hold an auction/raffle, it is very straight forward.
If you are interested then please drop me a line for more information at
montessori.swapshop 'at' gmail 'dot' com
You can also help by bidding or buying raffle tickets, not only might you win something great but you are helping people in need. I will do a post with a step by step guide on how to donate.
Spread the word! If you blog/tweet/FB help get the message out! Keep checking back for more information. There is a button on the top right of my other blog, I will be running things from there, copy the code to add it as a badge to your blog.

I feel very blessed to have my family and friends safe, we are still getting aftershocks, as I type in fact. I hope everyone reading this has managed to contact their loved ones. I have to thank everyone who contacted me one way or another, knowing that we are in your thoughts means a great deal to me.

dropping the balls

Life is like juggling don't you think? Especially when you become a parent, there always seem to be another 5 balls up in the air. Just now, I appear to have some extra balls to contend with, it is the end of the school year here so I have to go to the yochien (kindergarten) at least once a week plus some weekends and I have an art show to put on in 2 weeks so my time is being stretched to it's limits. Something has to give and I am afraid it in the goldmine, just for now. I will be back once things have calmed down a bit. Thank you for your emails and all your support, it is much appreciated.
